This is only one piece of paper which we found, but looks like there used to be a Bowers Family Organization. It looks like there were more pages. One of the individuals listed, Maria Bowers, is the one I do not know how she links to the family. Listed below is how the others tie into the family tree and who they are descendants of:

Do you know who Maria Bowers is?
Do you mean Maria Bowers? I suspect she is a descendant of James Bowers, who married Maria Lay. James Bowers was born 27 Jan 1811 and is an older brother of John Bowers, born 24 Jan 1816. So James would be an uncle to John Shadrach Bowers. James died in Iowa before making it to Salt Lake City. James kept a journal and was a Branch President in England...perhaps there is a copy on file at the Church History Library.
ReplyDeleteThank you for catching that error, Julie. I have a copy of James Bowers' journal. I need to dig out the copy and post it online. It is a transcribed copy, but someday I would like to compare it to the original. Would like to see if it is at the Church History Library. I do not know who has the original.
